    Accessible Learning recognizes that some students require technology-based devices and strategies to achieve ownership, engagement and empowerment over their learning.

    Accessible Learning supports these students, families and school districts of Suffolk and Nassau Counties, NY, through Assistive Technology consulting, evaluations, individual and professional development services.

    Accessible Learning strives to provide state-of-the-art technology expertise, industry best practices, and practical solutions to support students with learning, reading, writing, spectrum and developmental disabilities to achieve such positive outcomes.

  • Adoption and Guardianship Assistance Program for Everyone

    The Coalition unites foster, adoptive and kinship care families, giving them a voice and providing support, information and advocacy.  By fostering communication and collaboration between families, agencies and concerned citizens, we seek to ensure the stability, well-being and permanency of all children touched by the child welfare system.

    What we do:

    • Educate and support foster, kinship and adoptive parents and the professionals who serve them through information-sharing, services, peer support and referral.
    • Improve services available to children and families
    • Increase citizen involvement in local service planning and delivery
    • Educate leaders and stakeholders about the realities, challenges and rewards of foster, kinship and adoptive parenting
    • Advocate for greater support of foster, kinship and adoptive families by federal, state and local agencies

    Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) starts with the presumption that all individuals with disabilities can benefit from vocational rehabilitation services and should have opportunities to work in jobs integrated within their communities.  Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors guide individuals through service programs they need to reach their employment goal.

    Our Mission:

    ACCES-VR assists individuals with disabilities to achieve and maintain employment and to support independent living through training, education, rehabilitation, and career development.

    Our Vision:

    All individuals with disabilities who want to work will have the opportunity to achieve employment and independence.

    Calvary’s bereavement programs address the special problems that can arise when a child or adolescent suffers the devastating loss of a parent, sibling, or other loved one.

    The Down Syndrome Advocacy Foundation (DSAF) was formed by a group of families that are striving to make a difference in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome.

    Our goals include:

    • Advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome so they may have the same access to opportunities in community schools, recreational activities, and employment as their typical peers.

    • Support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families in seeking inclusive opportunities.

    • Community Acceptance and Responsibility toward individuals with Down syndrome.
