Mrs. Klein
Sharon Klein has been a School Social Worker for nearly 20 years. She has worked in all grade levels and can't imagine doing anything else with her life. She specializes in working with children and young adults dealing with challenges impacting their everyday lives and academic success.
She is married to a sweet red-bearded man. They have an energetic son and an equally adventurous redheaded daughter. She also has a dog named Solo (yes, after Han).
After working at the Harbor for over 11 years, Sharon became the school social worker for Seaford High School. Sharon is enjoying spending time with so many of the students that she knew in elementary school. As they are growing up and going out into the world as young adults.
Sharon is fully licensed and certified registered clinical social worker in the state of New York. She is also permanently certified in New York as a School Social Worker. After completing her bachelor’s degree in psychology from CW Post, Long Island University – Brookville, New York, she earned her graduate degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Stony Brook – Stony Brook, New York. In addition, Mrs. Klein completed her certification in Applied Behavioral Analysis as a BCBA from the Florida Institute of Technology and became a Licensed Behavior Analyst.
In addition to her roles in the educational sector, she manages a counseling practice where she oversees a dynamic team of therapists and collaborates directly with individuals of all age groups and families. Sharon's commitment to growth and innovation is evident in her recent certifications, including EMDR and adoption competence, achieved through the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.). Mrs. Klein continues to participate in conferences, coaching, peer mentoring opportunities, and courses to remain knowledgeable of the most current advances in psychology as it relates to children, families, school, and clinical social work.
