• CITATION FORMATS FOR RESEARCH ASSIGNMENTS

    1.         A list of all sources must be at the end of a research assignment. Each source must include the author, title, who published it and when it was published.

    2.         Alphabetize the entries by the author’s last name or the first word of the title if a work has no author. Double space the entire list under the centered heading “Works Cited.”

    3.         Follow the proper format for each type of work in MLA style. If a citation is more than one line in length, remember to tab on additional lines.
    4.         When writing a works cited page, remember to follow the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers eighth edition or try accessing MLA online. Click on this link to access MLA Online.
    5.         Most of the online databases that our district subscribes to includes the MLA citation at the bottom of the article.
