A Mango- Shaped Space
Book Review by, Alexis Russo
This book, A Mango- Shaped Space is truly a book that deserves an award. The author, Wendy Mass, is a terrific author and writes many other great books. She writes amazing page- turner books and this one touched me in a way, like I feel like I’m in the story discovering character challenges.
Summary
This book is about thirteen year- old Mia Winchell who knows she is far from ordinary. She has a big secret; sounds, numbers and words have a color for her. But school is making it complicated to keep her secr, and Mia doesn’t know what to expect. However, something is forcing her to share her gift, called synesthesia, or lose everything that’s important to her.
Recommendation
I recommend this book to anyone who likes realistic fiction, social issues and adventure in stories. This book is also good for people that have problems like Mia. A lot of people read books like this because they like hearing what the person has to say. If you are someone that likes “first person” narratives, this book is a match for you. Lastly, this book is good for people that like okay endings, in other words not exactly happy, but not sad.
