Should the school day be longer?

Most kids don’t like school, so why make it longer?  I think school should be longer, you can learn more, see more of your friends, and the other side of this. 

            You need to have at least some knowledge when you get to the real world. For example, if you’re at the mall and you need to estimate how much a dress, a necklace, and heels cost but you don’t have a calculator or a pencil and paper you won’t have an idea on how much money your spending. But, you need to know how much money your spending, so you round the number and then estimate the three numbers and have an estimate on how much money your spending.

            Also, we have a longer school day you’d be able to have more knowledge to get to a good collage and be ready for “the real world.”  For example, to get into a good collage you’ll need a good education, and the only way to get a good education is to learn a lot, so the school day should be longer.   You need to know stuff to get to “the real world.” If you to know how long a drive would be to Pennsylvania and you had to take an educated guess you would know if you had could estimate. So, if school days got longer you could have a longer math period. To learn everything, you need to know for the real world.

            On the other hand, most kids don’t like school, so they want it shorter. Almost every kid does an after school, sport and they don’t want to be late because of school.  Next, if school is very long you might not be able to see one of your parents.  For example, if your parent works overnight, you might not be able to see your family.  Lastly, kids need to rest for the next school day. So, if you have a longer school day you might not be able to rest and some people would fall asleep during school!

After reading my article, did I change you mind if the school day should be longer? I know I kept my opinion the same.
