• WELCOME to the FIFTH GRADE ART ROOM!
Our fifth graders apply all of the different techniques, materials and artistic knowledge they have learned during their years at the Harbor School to create truly beautiful works of art. Most of the projects take many weeks to complete, giving the students a real sense of ownership and accomplishment in their work.

As the "Final Exam", the fifth graders learned about the portrait and cubist work of Pablo Picasso.
Their goal was to create a self-portrait in the style of Pablo Picasso that incorporates all 7 of the art elements:
line, shape, color, value, space, texture and form, as well as pattern.
They followed a checklist and first created a rough layout of design and color usage.
The incredible results speak for themselves! Picasso would be so proud, as was I!
