In Science 7 students will learn and apply the scientific method as is pertains to the study of Life Science.  Major topics within Science 7 include the following:

• Characteristics of Life: Distinguishing between living and non-living things using 7 guiding characteristics.

• Cellular Biology: The field of biology that studies cells including their physiology, their structure, and their life cycle. Fundamentals of cell biology include the processes of mitosis and meiosis.

• Genetics: The study of heredity and the variation of inherited characteristics.

• Evolution: The change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. Evolutionary processes give rise to biodiversity at every level of biological organization, including the levels of species, individual organisms, and molecules.
